Washington County Oklahoma GOP

Herbert Hoover, 31st President of the United States once said, “Honest difference of views and honest debate are not disunity. They are the vital process of policy among free men.”  We are a large group of citizens from diverse backgrounds and with differing opinions, so debate is not only to be expected, but welcomed.

Although Parliamentary Procedure is a lot to learn, I do believe it’s the most effective method to maintaining order. We will learn together as we continue to utilize proper procedure at all business meetings.  — Larry Murray, Washington County GOP Chair

As Washington County Republican Party, George Washington comes to mind often. His tenacity in the face of many insurmountable challenges is an encouragement in these days when the values of our party are under attack.

During the Revolutionary War, when his soldiers were exhausted, the country was teetering on the end of their financial reserves, and the battle against the greatest empire on earth at the time, Washington addressed his troops, 

“My brave fellows, you have done all I asked you to do, and more than can be reasonably expected; but your country is at stake, your wives, your houses and all that you hold dear….you will render that service to the cause of liberty, and to your country, which you probably can never do under any other circumstances.” 

His tenacity encourages us to continue strong in this cause of liberty.
