Encouragement from Washington
As Washington County Republican Party, George Washington comes to mind often. His tenacity in the face of many insurmountable challenges is an encouragement in these days when the values of our party are under attack.
During the Revolutionary War, when his soldiers were exhausted, the country was teetering on the end of their financial reserves, and the battle against the greatest empire on earth at the time, Washington addressed his troops,
“My brave fellows, you have done all I asked you to do, and more than can be reasonably expected; but your country is at stake, your wives, your houses and all that you hold dear….you will render that service to the cause of liberty, and to your country, which you probably can never do under any other circumstances.”
His tenacity encourages us to continue strong in this cause of liberty.
The Washington County GOP is a group of patriotic individuals dedicated to upholding the values of the Republican Party in Washington County.
Individual Liberty
“Liberty must at all hazards be supported. We have a right to it, derived from our Maker. But if we had not, our fathers have earned and bought it for us, at the expense of their ease, their estates, their pleasure, and their blood.” John Adams
Support the Republican Platform
"We believe in limited government, individual liberty, natural rights, and personal moral responsibility. We believe Oklahoma should be a place of opportunity where people...can pursue their own dreams with a reasonable expectation of success." Platform Preamble
Hold Elected Officials Accountable
"Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people, who have a right … and a desire to know." John Adams
Involve and Educate the Voters
"All citizens of Oklahoma are invited to join the Oklahoma Republican Party to perpetuate this Republic. All...registered Republicans are members of the Oklahoma Republican Party, and shall have the right to participate in the official affairs and governance of the Republican Party..." OKGOP Rules
