Washington County Republicans,
The WCGOP Biennial County Convention, chaired by Larry Murray, was a great success! It was a fabulous day with amazing speakers, bountiful breakfast foods and a room filled with patriotism!
We saw the Precincts involved in bringing many Resolutions, Rules changes, and Platform planks to the body for discussion and voting. We had friendly debate and accomplished a great deal of business! We also elected delegates to State Convention and we heard from our own State Senator, Julie Daniels, who provided a legislative update.
The keynote speaker for our Convention was State Superintendent Ryan Walters. Ryan brought us up to speed on efforts to ensure the Bible, the Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence are included as historical documents in each classroom. He graciously took time to answer many questions and visited with convention delegates as he departed for another engagement.
By unanimous consent, we elected a new slate of officers for the WCGOP:
– County Chairman: Vic Severin
– County Vice Chairman: Sarah Burnett
– State Committee members: Eddie Collins and Michael Stadelmaier
– District Committee members: Josh Lock and Larry Murray
– State Committee Alternates: Rob Burns and Sandra Crosnoe
Putting on a convention takes a lot of work and we had many hands involved to make this effort successful. Thank you to our Central Committee, County Committee, our Platform, Rules and Credential Committees, and the many WCGOP members who volunteered their time and resources to help make this convention a great success! We also want to thank St. John Catholic Church for allowing us to utilize their beautiful facility.
Lastly, I thank Larry Murray for chairing this Convention and commend him for his dedication, leadership and service to our County GOP over the last two years!
